Our Little Helper

Nixon has been a big helper lately, since he is home alone with us most of the day. Now if I can just get him to pick up his own toys I would have it made!

The Crazy Adventures of a PG&E Worker

Okay, I have a funny but sad story. Brad called me from work tonight saying he just had an interesting thing happen, he said he was in a bad area of town and he was going on the on ramp to the freeway when he spotted a girl walking as if she was going to walk up onto the freeway, well, she was buck naked! Brad said he stopped but didn't want to get out, so he called 911, the 911 operator was hesitant on believing that this call was legit but then after some persuasion she said keep an eye on her, don't get out of your car but put your head lights on her so people will see her and not hit her. Brad said okay but he said he put his spot light on the ground near her not right on her! She started to walk toward the freeway so Brad yelled out the window, No stop! The girl turned and yelled go away! Then the girl sat down in the dirt and started rolling around in the dirt! A guy in a lexus drove by and stopped, got out of his car and walked toward the girl, he then threw a t-shirt at her and drove away! By this time another lady drove up next to Brad and said did you call the police Brad said yes, but it has been 10 minutes so far. So the lady called 911 too. Then she left, leaving Brad to deal with the naked lady. Finally (after 30 minutes!!!) the police showed up and took a statement from Brad and then let him go off to finish his work. When Brad called his work to tell them why he wasn't finishing his work they just laughed at him! I hope the girl is fine, and maybe she was drunk. I hope she wasn't out there because something bad happened to her! My sister Becky says Brad should write a book about all the crazy things he has come across while working. He has had so many crazy things happen, that it would take me a couple of days to write all about them. There is never a dull moment with Brad!

The Fair

We went to the Fair with Brad's whole family on Saturday. We got there and the parking lot was full, so we had to park in a nice neighborhood down the street. We had fun, even though it was so busy. We stayed clear of the ride area, I was afraid I'd loose one of my kids if we walked though that crazy section of the fair! Nixon kept asking when we were going to ride the rides and I kept saying we aren't because we are going to go on better rides at Magic Mountain, or Disneyland next month. He didn't understand why of course, but oh well. The kids ate corn dogs, funnel cake, cotton candy, cracker jacks, caramel apples  and drank some soda. (Healthy food!) We also looked at all the animals, most of the kids liked this, not Caden, he kept saying, "when are we going to eat", and he was tip toeing around so he wouldn't step in any droppings from the animals. My kids all have inherited my liking of animals!

This is a sign near the neighborhood that we parked in!

Nixon milking a cow

It was so funny to watch Gavin and Caden on the mini tractors, they made me laugh!
The kids playing in the hepatitis infested corn!
Hanging out and letting the kids play. (we had to let them play with all the free kid things, so we didn't have to waste our money on those sick rides.)
The big Race boys!
The girls looking cute!
Eating the greasy food!
Avery making Charlie smile!
Kenneth's first fair experience!

Our Little Visitor

We had a visitor on Saturday. My cousin Amy called and asked me to watch her son Ty, while she and her husband went to the temple. That little guy was so good! He cried for a second when his mom left, but then he was fine the rest of the day. My kids loved having him at our house, Carsyn fed him his food and Nixon played with him. They were great babysitters!

My Hubby the One Upper

Last night Caden asked me to make some cookies. I really didn't feel like it, so I ask Brad to make some for him. He said that if I borrowed my mom's mixer he would make them. So of course I borrowed it, so I didn't have to make the cookies. Well Brad made the cookies and wow, I don't know if it was the mixer or Brad but those cookies are gooooood! Whenever Brad makes anything it tastes ten times better than when I make it, what is up with that?

Caden's a Busy Boy

Caden started scouts this year and is enjoying it, He started soccer and next week he starts flag football. He loves to keep busy, which means I am in the car a lot. I guess that's what a soccer mom does! He seems to be getting old quickly. You know your kid is getting older when, they want a normal tooth brush and not one with characters on it. And you really know your kid is getting old, when they don't want a Happy Meal anymore they want the large fries and the million piece chicken nuggets!

Fantasy Football

I don't know if anyone else has a husband that is into fantasy football, but my husband and son are both die hard fantasy football players. What that means is that on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays the computer and the t.v. are dominated by the boys. I have been dreading this football season, not just because it's on non stop, but it also means we will be late to church, eating dinner with the t.v. on, and having to deal with depressed boys that yell at the t.v. You would think that they actually were playing real football the way they get into it. Oh well as long as they're having fun, I'll put up with it!

Nixon's 1st day of Preschool

Nixon has been so bored with me, so we decided to do a little play group/ preschool. There are 4 kids in the group, which means I have it at my house once a month and the others then take turns at their homes. It's fun for the kids to play with other kids and get used to being away from mom for a couple hours. It was nice, Becky and I were able to go to Target without anyone begging us for something.

Here is the only picture I could get to work, my computer is being weird. I thought Nixon would be scared to go without me. He was totally fine, he had fun and he even ate his food for lunch. (He never eats his lunch.) After school Nixon had to tell everyone how he went to school and didn't Cry. He probably thinks you have to cry before school, since he has been watching his older brother and sister cry every day before school. Maybe he'll be my brave one!

Twilight Bandwagon

I have never been a fan of reading, I think because in school I was forced to read and I hate to be forced to do anything! I haven't read a real book since high school, how bad is that! Well I kept hearing great things about the Twilight series and so I thought I would try it out. I just finished the first book Twilight, and I was impressed. I got through it in a week and a half. To me that is great considering my family doesn't like me to sit down by myself for more than 5 minutes. Now on to the next book.

Today Was Much Better

Today when we were walking to school, Caden said "when will my stomach stop hurting when I go to school". I said, "as soon as you get used to school". Well, when I dropped him off at school, he walked off with a boy from his class and he was fine, no crying! Instead Carsyn starts shedding tears and says she doesn't want to go to school, I said "Oh No, you are not doing it too". I walked her to her class and she finally let me leave. I know she was trying to play me and get out of going to school like Caden did. Well, when I picked Caden up from school, he was so happy and excited, a totally different kid, he said he hung out with a couple kids and a 4th grader asked him to play football with him. Yea!!

Caden faking sick

I do not know what to do with Caden.  Last night Caden says I have a stomach ache. So I said you will be fine after you go to sleep. So then he wakes up saying I have a stomach ache still. He eats breakfast, plays with Carsyn and Nixon, gets ready, and watches tv, never saying a thing about his stomach. Then as we are walking to school he starts crying saying my stomach hurts bad now. I know my kids and I know when they are sick. He is not sick! So we're at the school gate and I say good by to Carsyn and Caden will not go in the gate, he's crying and holding his stomach. I then said Caden if you don't go to school you are not playing video games, you are not watching t.v. and I'll make an appointment for you to see the doctor. He says okay, so we went home and I told him if you are sick you need to go lay on your bed. He lays on his bed for a while and then gets up and tries to play a video game with Nixon, of course I say, No. He then says my stomach doesn't hurt as much anymore. Well long story short he is still home, he is not sick, he now says can you please home school me. So the true reason comes out, he doesn't like school he says he hates it and he especially hates recess, the boy who loved, loved, loved recess at his old school. I can't stand that he faked sick, but it still makes me sad that he went through all of that because he doesn't feel comfortable at school. I know he'll start to make friends but since he is so shy it will take him a little longer then others. It makes my heart hurt for him, at his other school he had a huge group of friends, and when he came home from school yesterday he kept saying I only have one friend (and he doesn't even know his name) :(

He is so different from Carsyn I drove by the school the other day and I see Carsyn on the playground with a bunch of girls all walking around holding hands, she is not my shy one that is for sure!! Well hopefully school will get better for Caden, but I still keep questioning why we didn't buy a home in our old school's district!

School's In

Today was the first day of school for my kids and the first day at their new school. They did much better than I expected, at least there was no crying. As we walked up to school Carsyn turned to me and said "This is kind of scary mom". I feel for them, I hated the first day of school, even in college. Well now Nixon is demanding every bit of my attention so I must go play cars and legos!

The Memory Game

I've seen this on some of my friends blogs, and thought I'd give it a try.

1. Leave a memory that you and I had together as a comment on my blog. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember.
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come on your blog and leave one about you. Have a nice trip down memory lane!

Hamburger Helper

Just to let everyone know, I am about to consume Hamburger Helper. Please if I am found dead, let someone know that it was the food that killed me! Carsyn was at her cousins house and came home saying how yummy their dinner was. I asked her what it was, and she didn't know the name of it, so we were at the grocery store and she spotted the box of hamburger helper and said this is it, it is so yummy. Well we are trying it tonight and I don't think I have eaten it in about 20 years but it is making me queezy looking at it, I don't know why but I think it might kill me. What I will do to get my kids to eat!!

All about Mom

My friend had this on her blog and I thought I'd try it out. I asked my kids some questions about me, and I thought I'd ask Brad to answer the same questions about me, I probably shouldn't have. Notice Nixon's answers are all empty because all he would do when I asked him the questions was smile.

Carsyn: Kisses and hugs
Nixon:
Brad: Oh, It shows in every way.

Trying To Keep Busy

I have been trying to keep my kids from killing each other, so I am trying to find things for them to do. Well I won tickets to The Breeze Kids Camp again, so we went to Calm. I actually can't stand that place, but when it's free and lunch is free I couldn't turn it down. It ended up being fun. We took Caden's friend Christion with us and the kids enjoyed themselves.

Nixon is just glad that there is a glass between he and the snake.
The kids thought it was great that there was a snake eating a mouse. This had to be the highlight for them. (I think Nixon needed to go potty!)
Caden feeding a deer a leaf.
A man with an owl.
The kids climbing on the cute tunnel in the play area.
To keep busy we also went on a tour of Dewars the other day. We went last summer and the kids liked it so we thought it would be fun again. The hair nets that they make you wear are always a hit with the kids!
The kids all sat still for a minute so we could take this picture. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Nixon didn't really like his strawberry ice cream.
