We went to the Fair with Brad's whole family on Saturday. We got there and the parking lot was full, so we had to park in a nice neighborhood down the street. We had fun, even though it was so busy. We stayed clear of the ride area, I was afraid I'd loose one of my kids if we walked though that crazy section of the fair! Nixon kept asking when we were going to ride the rides and I kept saying we aren't because we are going to go on better rides at Magic Mountain, or Disneyland next month. He didn't understand why of course, but oh well. The kids ate corn dogs, funnel cake, cotton candy, cracker jacks, caramel apples and drank some soda. (Healthy food!) We also looked at all the animals, most of the kids liked this, not Caden, he kept saying, "when are we going to eat", and he was tip toeing around so he wouldn't step in any droppings from the animals. My kids all have inherited my liking of animals!
This is a sign near the neighborhood that we parked in!

It was so funny to watch Gavin and Caden on the mini tractors, they made me laugh!
Hanging out and letting the kids play. (we had to let them play with all the free kid things, so we didn't have to waste our money on those sick rides.)

Kenneth's first fair experience!

I'm so jealous, I love the Kern County Fair. I have such fun memories of going as a kid for family night. Milking cows and watching calves being born. But never riding the rides, unless we wanted to sit in vomit, get stabbed with a hypodermic needle, get kidnapped, or who knows what else. I love the parkin sign; not scary at all.
We to had to park in one of those creepy 'SAFE PARKING' places. Your sign looks better than ours did. They didn't have parking spelt right. The boy doing all the business said in really bad broken english, "You be safe here" we looked at each other and laughed and felt 'real safe'. We walked two extra miles for that great parking spot.
Ok, well you are all reminding me of the reason's I don't like the fair.:) But it looks like you had fun so that is what counts in the end. So to answer your question Lisa we do not have soccer year round. There is a fall and spring season each are about 8 weeks long. Sam plays a little longer because she plays in a comp league. When the outdoor season ends her team plays indoor. While we get a little break in between we don't get too much. Swim last just about year round. Which is good we pick it up and drop it whenever it fits. The kids pretty much practice year round though. I know we have issues!
Looks like you had a lot of fun! We're going tomorrow afternoon. Jillian really does love animals -- mess and all, so I think she'll enjoy it.
To answer you about Dr. Sturz: He's the best. You should definitely switch. He's really calm and kind and his whole staff is really wonderful.
To this day I won't let my kids ride the rides. Jordan just told one of his friends his "mom" won't let him but I have truly put the fear in them and they know that someone who is fond of meth had a hand in assembling the rides and we just aren't ready to take our chances on that one. Fear is our friend!
The best thing about the fair is the people. You know which ones I am talking about. It is the all time best place for people watching. Oh and the cinnamon rolls are pretty good too. I look forward to going each year, one of these days I am going without my kids so I can sit myself down by the entrance with a diet coke and a cinnamon roll and just watch everyone that comes in.
